Height: 13 feet
Length: 37 feet
Weight: 5 tons
Coloration: Males are burnt orange, with white stomachs and black stripings on their bodies. Heads are also black, often with red markings and red quills. Females are yellow-orange, with lighter markings and smaller quills. Babies are pale yellow, with faint markings and no quills.
Diet: Meat, alone they can bring down Triceratops-sized prey, but in packs, they can bring down animals as large as Brachysaurolophus.
Description: Combined using the DNA of a Diamondback rattlesnake, Deinonychus and Tyrannosaurus, the fearsome Tyrannonychus is a deadly, hungry predator. It has a skull much like a raptor, but bearing banana-sized teeth, which are used to strip flesh and crunch bone off a carcass. It uses it's razor-sharp talons on it's hands and feet to disembowel prey, then finish them off with it's huge, gaping jaws. Females are typically larger and more aggressive then the males, and during the mating season, the male must bring the female "prizes", which are usually freshly-hunted carcasses which he must bring down by himself. After the eggs hatch, the female goes to hunt for food while the male stays and watches the babies. Like the raptors, Tyrannonychus will sometimes form packs to bring down large prey. Using their snake DNA, Tyrannonychus will use it's forked tongue to track prey from distances. Also like rattlesnakes, when faced with an opponent, both males and females will snarl fiercely, raise their tails high in the air, and shake them violently, producing a rattling sound. If this mock defense fails, the creature will spring forward, jaws open. A single bite from a Tyrannonychus will inject deadly venom into the creatures bloodstream, which will spread through the body, causing cramps, then weakness, then paralysis, and finally death.
Territory: Anywhere with plenty of prey to choose from.
